What this page covers
This page explains how the Cityfort blog works. It covers who writes it, where its numbers come from, how we check them, how we fix mistakes and what we will never publish.
The same rules apply to our stock pages. How we research explains them in more detail.
What the blog is for
The blog explains company news in plain English. A post might explain a company's latest results, how a business makes money, how a sector earns, or a term that is in the news.
Every post links to the stock pages it mentions. The stock pages are where each business is explained in full.
We do not write about share price moves. We do not publish market wraps, tips, lists of shares to buy or watch, or advice on IPO applications.
Who writes the posts
Posts carry a byline. The byline links to an author page with the author's role and a short bio.
Most posts carry the Cityfort Research byline: the owner of Cityfort working with AI research and writing tools. Every post shows the date and time it was published, in Indian Standard Time.
Where our numbers come from
Every number in a post comes from a document filed by the company, the stock exchange, a credit rating agency, a regulator or the government. Each post lists its sources with their dates, and each number points to one of them.
News reports and company websites help us find events. They are context only. We never use them as the source of a number.
We never use social media, tip channels, forums or rumours. If something cannot be traced to a filing or an official source, we do not publish it.
When a post reports what management said, we say so and give the date and the document. A company's own plans are its statements, not our forecast.
How every post is checked
A post passes two checks before it can be published:
- Validator. A script checks the post's structure, its sources, its links and its wording.
- Fact-check. A separate review, which did not write the post, traces every number and claim back to its source. It also checks every sentence against our education-only rules, below.
The owner of Cityfort then reviews the post. Nothing is published without that approval.
How we use AI tools
Research, drafting and the fact-check are done with AI tools that follow our written rules. The owner of Cityfort decides what we cover, reads every post and approves it before it goes live.
Every number is checked against the original filings before a post goes live. The fact-check compares each figure with the source document, and any mismatch is fixed and checked again.
Corrections and updates
We will get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we say so at the top of the post, with the date and what changed. We do not quietly change numbers.
To report an error, write to us through the contact page. Tell us the post, the number or sentence, and where you saw the correct figure.
If a post is updated with new facts, it shows an "Updated" date and time next to the published time. A post's web address never changes.
Our own shareholdings
Our policy on shares held by the owner and contributors, and on trading around the posts we publish, is being finalised with our lawyer. It will be published here before launch.
Education only
Cityfort is not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser or research analyst. Posts explain facts. They never tell you to buy, sell or hold a share.
We never publish price targets, fair values, ratings of shares, predictions of price moves or claims about returns. Any price-based number shows its date next to it.
Ads and independence
Blog posts may carry ads from Google AdSense once ads are switched on. Ads are labelled "Advertisement" and appear between sections, never inside charts, key numbers or our links to stock pages.
Ads load only if you accept advertising cookies. Our cookie policy explains how to change your choice.
Advertisers have no say in what we write. Companies do not pay us to cover them. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be labelled "Sponsored". Stock pages carry no ads or sponsored content.
